Benefit Elections:

Medical, Vision or Supplemental Insurance

If you choose to decline coverage for medical, vision or supplemental insurance, you must wait until our annual enrollment in August before enrollment will be available to you again. Long term disability is not optional coverage and must be elected at the start of your employment with Thompson Technologies.

Dental Insurance

If you choose to decline dental coverage, you may be ineligible to participate in the dental plan for the duration of your employment.

Benefit/Employment Start Dates

All benefits, except for 401(k) begin on the 1st day of the calendar month following your start date. (Example: If your employment start date is September 10th, the benefits coverage you selected would start on October 1st.)




Premium Information:

Thompson Technologies pays 75% of the medical, dental and vision coverage for the associate only. For family and dependant coverage, the associate will pay 100%. Associates also pay for 100% of their LTD which is required coverage.

Your medical, dental and vision coverage fall under COBRA guidelines. If you leave Thompson Technologies for any reason, you may elect COBRA continuance of any or all of these policies. Thompson Technologies has 30 days from your last day of employment to notify our COBRA carrier who then has 14 days to send your enrollment package to you.

This site provides information about plan coverage and lists providers. To use your vision coverage, you need a benefit form. You can download the form, called a “Vision Pass” from this website. The benefit may be used for either glasses or contact lens coverage.




401(k) Information:

Our 401(k) plan is with Best of America/Nationwide, administered through Pension Financial Services. After 90 days of continuous employment, all W2 and salaried associates are eligible to participate in the plan. Thompson Technologies provides a 50% match on the first 6% of your contribution.

Maximum annual allowable contributions change yearly and are listed on http://www.irs.gov.

Employer contributions to your 401(k) vest based on years of service. The schedule is: 10% for 1 year of service, 25% for 2 years of service, 40% for 3 years of service, 60% for 4 years of service, 80% for 5 years of service and 100% for 6 or more years of service.

This site allows you to access your Thompson Technologies 401(k) account information, see your balance and investments, make changes to your investment options and provides information on fund performance.

To get started, select "Access My Accounts" then “Log in to my 401(k)”. Choose “sign up” if you haven’t accessed before. Next enter your social security number, then under the "Customer" section, key in our account number 06500453. From there, you will be prompted to choose a user id and password. If you lose or forget your user id or password, please call 1-888-867-5175 to have these reset.




Credit Union Information:

As an associate of Thompson Technologies, you are eligible to join IBM Southeast Employees Federal Credit Union. To establish a savings account, a minimum $5 deposit is required. For a checking account, a minimum $25 deposit is required.

This site allows you to access your account if you are already a member or to download an application if you would like to become a member. To access the membership application, select "Join" from the drop-down menu under "About Us". List "Thompson Technologies Inc" as the qualifying employer/organization.

In addition to multiple locations in Metro Atlanta, members may use Shared Service Centers to access their accounts. There are 750 of these throughout the US, Guam, Japan and Korea.
